CONDUCTOR ROBERT TWETEN
Santa Fe resident Maestro Robert Tweten has conducted for a number of opera companies in both the U.S. and Canada, including the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Santa Fe Opera. He is equally at home as a piano recitalist, performing with many of today’s most prominent singers in venues such as New York’s Lincoln Center, Chicago’s Orchestra Hall, Los Angeles’ Disney Hall, and many more major performance venues worldwide.
SOLOIST KIRSTEN LEAR
Mezzo-soprano Kirsten Lear is well known in Santa Fe as she began her career as an apprentice for the Santa Fe Opera. Kristen grew up in a ranch in northern New Mexico where she worked with a number of musical organizations in northern New Mexico. Her career includes performances with the Houston Grand Opera, Canadian Opera, the Pacific Opera in Victoria. She played the role of Giry in the Toronto Broadway production of Phantom of the Opera. Lear made her national television debut performing Alice in Wonderland in the Rhombus Media production of Fragments of Alice that was broadcast on PBS.

CONDUCTOR/COMPOSER RANDOL BASS
As a composer, Bass has achieved an impressive array of performances and commissions by prestigious ensembles throughout the U.S., among these: the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra and the Boston Pops Orchestra. His Gloria was premiered at Carnegie Hall in 1990 by the New York Pops Orchestra under Skitch Henderson; the same composition has been recorded by the Boston Pops Orchestra with Keith Lockhart and can be heard on their latest Christmas CD release, Holiday Pops. His arrangement of Conquest of Paradise by Vangelis was commissioned by the Boston Pops Orchestra and can be heard on their 2000 CD re-release, Summon the Heroes, under the baton of eminent film composer John Williams.

CONDUCTOR DANTE ANZOLINI
Dante Anzolini’s international conducting career includes extensive experience conducting throughout Europe and the United States, including engagements with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra since 2008. Anzolini was born in Berisso, Argentina, of Italian and Chilean parents. Apart from piano and composing, he studied conducting first in Argentina, later at the Yale University School of Music. In addition to his work as a conductor, Dante Anzolini also appears as a composer and arranger of orchestral pieces. His arrangement of Arnold Schoenberg’s ‘Variations for Orchestra’ (op.31) for solo piano, published by Belmont and distributed worldwide by Universal Edition, is the first ever written piano version of the monumental orchestral piece. Mr. Anzolini has worked extensively with composer Philip Glass on several projects including the world premiere of his opera ‘The White Raven’ at the World Expo ’98 in Lisbon, Portugal.

CONDUCTOR VICTOR YAMPOLSKY
Victor Yampolsky’s international conducting career includes conducting throughout Europe and, beginning in 2008, extensive engagements with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Esteemed as a teacher, conductor, and violinist, Yampolsky is Professor in Music Performance at the Northwestern University School of Music, and Music Director Emeritus of the Omaha Symphony. Born in the Soviet Union in 1942, Yampolsky, the son of the great pianist Vladimir Yampolsky, studied violin with the legendary David Oistrakh at the Moscow Conservatory.

CONDUCTOR URIEL SEGAL
Uriel Segal was born in Jerusalem in 1944. He is Conductor Emeritus of the Chautauqua Festival. His international conducting career includes engagements with orchestras in the United States, Canada and Europe, including the Berlin Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw, London Symphony, and in Cincinnati, Dallas, Houston, Milwaukee and Montreal. Segal is Laureate Conductor of the Century Orchestra in Osaka, Japan, an orchestra he founded and led for 8 years.
