New Mexico Philharmonic to Collaborate with New Mexico Ballet Company in Presenting The Nutcracker Ballet at Popejoy Hall
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ALBUQUERQUE, NM, August 7, 2012—The New Mexico Philharmonic today announced that the orchestra is collaborating with the New Mexico Ballet Company to bring the classic Nutcracker Ballet to the stage in a continuation of the ever-popular holiday tradition.
The first performance is scheduled for Saturday, November 24th at 7 p.m. Additional performances are scheduled for Sunday, November 25, 2 p.m., Saturday, December 1st at 2 and 7 p.m., and Sunday, December 2nd, 2 p.m.
With current American Ballet Theatre and New York City Ballet Principal dancers, stirring music courtesy of the full New Mexico Philharmonic orchestra, professional dancers and exquisite sets and costumes, those who love The Nutcracker will enjoy a performance to remember.
New Mexico Philharmonic Executive Director Marian Tanau said of the collaboration, “We are so very pleased to be part of this favorite of audiences everywhere. We look forward to our initial collaboration with the New Mexico Ballet Company and to many more years of this great holiday tradition.”
